United States-Connecticut
The Hinson lab is seeking an independent, motivated individual who wants to join our multidisciplinary team focused on the development of new genetic models and genome editing therapeutics for inheritable forms of cardiovascular disease. The Jackson Laboratory for Genomic Medicine and UConn Health studies human cardiovascular disorders especially heart failure using a combination of approaches including genome editing, pluripotent stem cell technology, mouse models, genomics assays, and tissue engineering. We are a collaborative team that includes expertise in genome biology, computation biology, tissue engineering, cardiac physiology and clinical cardiovascular medicine.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in cell biology, molecular biology, genetics, or related field of study. Research experience in at least two of the following areas: pluripotent stem cell biology and differentiation, cellular physiology, next-generation genome sequencing assays especially single cell transcriptomics, tissue engineering especially involving engineered cardiac tissues, and in vivo cardiac physiology and function especially in mouse models.
