Computational Science Developer

The Meyer lab at CSHL invites applications for a Computational Science Developer. The successful candidate will be part of a larger interdisciplinary team of computational and experimental scientists, studying the development of the immune system.
We are seeking a computational developer who has experience with software development for scientific research. This position requires a working knowledge of one or more programming languages and software development techniques. The position requires a familiarity with biological databases and current scientific software.
Qualifications
Strong background in Bioinformatics preferred, with at least a BS in Biology, Bioinformatics or Computer Science, and with extensive computational programming experience. Must be able to work efficiently and independently and must have strong communication and interpersonal skills. Experience with Linux/Unix environments is required. Expertise with multiple scripting/programming languages (C, C++, Python, R, Perl and/or Java) is required. Experience with existing bioinformatics tools, databases and software is preferred, with a strong preference for experience with workflow development (snakemake, nextflow) and bioinformatics analysis of sequencing data (RNA-seq, ChIP-seq, exome-seq, etc).
