The Andalusian Health System possess one of the biggest resources of clinical data, the BPS , which contains comprehensive clinical data, on more than 12.5 million patients, recorded since 2001. Currently, different types of studies are ongoing, including multiple prognostic predictors, synthetic patient data generation, data augmentation, disease trajectories, etc. Additionally, medical image data and genomic data are being added to BPS. The Area has an intense activity in machine learning applications in genomic data , with especial focus on the Systems Biology perspective. Therefore, we are interested in projects that apply machine learning to clinical data, to genomic data or both.
Qualifications
Strong background in one of the following areas: mathematics, biology, computation or some related topic.
Machine learning / Deep Learning background
Programming skills in data science (familiar with one or several of PyTorch, SparkML, MLlib, Weka, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, etc.)
Bioinformatic background (including programming skills in R/Bioconductor)
