Bioinformatics Scientist Position available at UPMC Hillman Cancer Bioinformatics Core

We are seeking highly motivated researchers with strong analytical and statistical skills to join our effort to support the large-scale data-intensive translational research at UPMC Hillman Cancer Center as part of the Bioinformatics Shared Resources. The Bioinformatics Research Scientist will be responsible for the integrative analysis of multi-omics datasets and high-resolution pathology images in cancer research, analytical pipeline development, novel algorithm development and/or in-depth data analysis that facilitates and integrates implementation, visualization, and database management of multi-dimensional biological datasets enerated at the Cancer Center.
Qualifications
We are seeking candidates with Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Biostatistics, Genomics, Computer Sciences, Health Informatics, Biology or a relevant field, or M.S. with approximately 3-5 year experience, or B.S. with approximately 5-7 year experience; Proficient in Next-Generation Sequencing data analysis and commonly used bioinformatics & biostatistics tools; Proficient in at least one programming language (R, Python, Scala, Perl, etc.); Experience in large-scale data processing, analysis, visualization, database schema design, web application, statistical genetics, machine learning, and/or deep learning of omics and imaging data is a plus.
