Lead PSIPRED Server Developer

We require an experienced bioinformatics software developer to take the lead in further developing The PSIPRED Protein Structure Analysis Workbench, an ELIXIR-UK Node Service. The post is funded by a BBSRC BBR grant for up to 5 years in the first instance. The project is joint with Dr Daniel Buchan at Goldsmiths College. In addition to the main task of maintaining and further developing the server, the post holder will also take part in other research projects within the lab. A focus in this phase of the server development will be to integrate recent developments in deep learning into the server functionality, and so experience in machine learning would be advantageous.
Qualifications
1. A PhD in bioinformatics or other relevant subject. 2. Significant experience of Python and C/C++ software development. 3. Experience in developing scientific web servers. 4. Track record in writing and publishing scientific papers. Experience in machine learning, particularly with neural networks, would be advantageous.
